Sandbar Charter

Key West Sandbar Trips

Sandbars are shallow, sandy areas between the mangrove islands that make up the Florida Keys. Depending on the tide level, the sandbar may be completely dry or under a few inches of water.

Either way, they’re a gorgeous place to spend the day walking the beach, swimming in the shallows, and just generally lounging the day away! They’re always a nice spot to stop and chill between other activities, like snorkeling or fishing.

About Your Key West Sandbar Excursion

Sandbars are where the locals go to get away from it all. You’ve got to have a boat to get there, so a private sandbar charter with Your Island Charter is your ticket to the good life. Depending on what you’re looking for, some sandbars are party hot spots while others are quiet oases.

A few notes about Your Island Charter's Key West sandbar trip packages:

  • We might visit more than one sandbar during a trip
We can combine your sandbar charter with other activities (i.e., snorkeling, fishing, lobster, eco-tours, or sunset charters)
  • Where we go will depend on that day’s weather and conditions on the water
  • All ages are welcome
  • Pets are welcome

What Will I See During a Sandbar Tour in Key West?

Ever wondered where the great beaches are in Key West? Well, this is the Florida Keys, and we do things a little differently. Our best beaches are sandbars, and they are out in the ocean, not off the side of the road.

Most of the most Insta-worthy spots are out on the sandbars. Here are a few things you might see on a typical sandbar charter:

  • The best beaches in Key West
  • Gorgeous views of the Keys and crystal-clear tropical water
  • Dolphins, manatees, and other wildlife
  • The Snipes Point swing

Every trip out into the backcountry is a little different. We’ll be out in the wilderness and away from town. The vibe at various sandbars changes throughout the day. Weekday mornings are usually the quietest, great for nature lovers and birders. The afternoons on weekends, especially when the weather is good, can get more crowded. Some sandbars are party spots where locals meet up for afternoon fun in the sun.
